Shallyn MacDonald is a Secretary at Captiva and a key member of the team, bringing over 25 years of experience in the legal industry. Her background spans roles from secretary to paralegal across a wide range of practice areas, including commercial litigation, insolvency, family law, tax, and regulatory and immigration law within the Cayman Islands.
Shallyn is a qualified paralegal (CILEX) with a specialisation in civil litigation and contract law, complemented by a strong foundation in business administration. She has extensive experience supporting high-performing legal teams, drafting complex legal documentation, managing client relationships, and handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Prior to joining Captiva, Shallyn worked with a leading offshore law firm in Cayman and has built an international career across multiple jurisdictions. Outside of work, she is passionate about environmental sustainability and is actively involved in several non-profit organisations in the Cayman Islands, particularly those focused on watersports and environmental initiatives.
