Harry Thompson

Harry Thompson is a director of Captiva and acts as general counsel to the group.  Harry has significant offshore experience and has developed specialist expertise in captive insurance and life insurance products.

A graduate of Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Harry holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University and was called to the Ontario bar in 1995.  Harry spent the early part of his career with Fasken (formerly Fasken Martineau DuMoulin), a large Canadian law firm based in Toronto before moving offshore in 2000, where he practiced corporate and commercial law with Conyers Dill & Pearman, a major offshore law firm.  Harry founded the Captiva group of companies in 2005.

Harry is a Barrister & Solicitor, Law Society of Ontario (1995, not currently practicing), a Solicitor, The Law Society, England and Wales (2001, not currently practicing), a Solicitor for the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the British Virgin Islands (2001), a Solicitor for the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in Anguilla (2006) and an Attorney in the Cayman Islands (2018).  Harry is also a licensed Insolvency Practitioner in the British Virgin Islands (2005).
